"THE ONE" is a character drama focused around Jet Li's search for identity as an outsider in post ww2 Vancouver. Jason Staham, who is excellent here as Percy, is his racist slumlord. Through a series of heartbreaking misadventures they both learn how to respect each others' cultures and views, and in the end learn to be each others' "One".
