Review of The One (2001) by Matthew M — 11 Mar 2010
A sci fiction martial arts movie that has some charm and at some points I laughed. It was entertaining, short and to the point. A plot that would end up Jet Li fighting himself. The bad Jet Li has become so powerful that he can kick people around like ragdolls and use motorcycles as weapons.
It is however a different take on the whole action star clone genre and I did like what they did to make it original. The beginning of the film is all action and it feels weird when they first slow down.
They rarely ever do though and it feels like a very fast 87 minutes.
