Review of The One (2001) by Russell H — 27 Aug 2012
Not the best from Jet Li (or even "X-Files" writers Wong and Morgan), but this isn't their worst either. Even though the plot is uberconvoluted to a point that it gets confusing, the movie makes up for it with some nifty ideas (Jet Li vs.
Jet Li. Awesome!), cool "Matrix"-esque fight sequences, and a hardcore nu-metal soundtrack. Sure, there's stiff acting from a good cast and shameless riffs from "Highlander", but, no matter what universe you're in, this action flick is a fun one to watch.
.. as long as you're able to shut off your brain for an hour and a half.
