While it's about as good as the original, it simply cannot replace. The thrills are tone-down, and the death scenes aren't as shocking. Not to mention that there's barely anything new, therefore if you've seen the original, there are no surprises left.
In the end, it feels like a cheap imitation while softly being a tribute.
