Just like Gus Van Sant 1998 remake of Psycho, it's unnecessary to remake something if you are just going to do it shot-by-shot. The remake adds nothing remarkable and improves nothing from the original.
They just recreated the 1976 version, but made it boring and overly cliched. Director John Moore is such a hack.
