Review of The Omen (1976) by Peter K — 17 Jun 2009
I don't know why the heck they remade this movie!!! Yeah, it is a little cheesy but the fact that the movie is from the 70's and looks cool gives a big thumb up from me. This is a breath of fresh air compared to the remake.
Little Damien (that rambunctious, mischievous kid!) looks quite normal and not over-dramatic. Gregory Peck deserves my bravo as he slowly convinces us that he must do the unthinkable. The most terrifying moment is when the mother realizes that she will die.
There is a sense of dread as the background music with its chanting grows more distinct. Really decent movie.
