Review of The Omen (1976) by Don A — 26 Jun 2010
One of the best psychological thrillers/horror movies ever made. Everything is so well made that even by today's standards it has yet to be out done. From the gray overcast that blurs the skies of London and the dead stillness of the settings all add to the overall feel.
Whats great about this movie is that it doesn't rely on gore or violence, but rather unfolding storytelling that shocks rather than disgusts. And who could forget Jerry Goldsmith's genius soundtrack of Latin Gregorian chanting that just floors the audience with a foreboding sense of dread.
A must see.
