While incredibly suspenseful and chilling, the Omen took too many liberties for me. It plays on what is real in this world, as far as demonic forces go, but also brought fantasy into the picture, mixing the too.

This does not take away the reality that this movie succeeds as a horror film and instead of scares here and there, the film creates an atmosphere where you are always thinking something is going to jump out at you.

The film is just creepy, spooky, and terrifying. Donner's shots, the magnificent score by Goldmsith, Peck's and Remick's performances, and the simplistic expressions by little Harvey Stephens really bring this film to the forefront of the horror genre.

If you want to be scared, then this movie succeeds at making you hold your breath. But it is fantastical and shouldn't be considered dogma on the anti-Christ. Although Stephens and his protectors are pretty convincing.
