Review of The Omega Man (1971) by Cristian G — 05 Oct 2011
With this, Soylent Green and Planet of the Apes, Charlton Heston seems intent of warning us all of the dangers of our current behaviors and ways of life. Here, he does a solid effort of conveying his character's growing insanity of being the last man on Earth, fighting to survive from the infected humans called "The Family".
Yet, the movie's great themes, commentary and ideas get muddled and forgotten as the movie goes on, as it gets pretty cheesy with its Bond-like one-liners, over-the-top music, silly dialogue and laughable costumes & make-up for the "Family".
Not recommend.
