Review of The Omega Man (1971) by James S — 08 Jun 2008
I think Omega Man was a lot better than the critics are giving it credit for. Heston was on point, Rosalind Cash was sexxay. The earth basically destroyed itself with nukes, the survivors were mutants, one man stood alone as the light bringer, he was a scientist named Robert Neville. Heston deserved an academy award for his emotional performance.
There have been three adaptations of Matheson's novel I am legend. This was the second best. I am legend was third. And the Last Man on Earth was the best since it followed the novel the closest. Plus Vincent Price could act.
