Review of The Omega Man (1971) by Rudy C — 03 Nov 2009
Barely fresh for me. The Omega Man, was a good movie, but some of the elements were just cheesy and ridiculous. I haven't read the book (and I don't really feel right about reviewing the movie anyway after watching I Am Legend), so I don't know what the "vampires" were supposed to be like, but I did not like the fact that they were some sort of cult.
Some things about it just didn't make much sense. The vampires had some sort of mind control powers because of the disease, some people have certain "immunities", etcetera, etcetera. What I really liked about it was Charlton Heston's performance, because he is just plain cool in this movie.
I think that, even for the early 70's, this movie still had much more potential, but wasn't a failure either.
