Review of The Omega Man (1971) by Jason J — 16 Dec 2009
6/10 Before Charlton Hesston Sci-Fi Trilogy (Planet of the Apes, Soylent Green and The Omega Man) this type of movies were seen as second class movies with second class actors. The Omega Man, about a man living alone after a bacterial holocaust is the weakest of these three movies, while the director originally depict a lone city in takes that later would be emulated in movies like I am legend or 28 days later, the story lack of emotional or legendary moments makes this movie a little bad in comparison to other movies that treat these theme.
The albino mutants are not scary enough or evil enough to be ultra scary, they are just a bunch of extremist humans. I think this movie really made a contribution to cinema but it feels to outdated.
