A question is asked by this movie, if you were (or thought you were) the last human being on Earth, would you survive? Maybe? Well, add on to that the fact that the earth is now run by mutated, cannabalistic humaniod creatures? Such is the situation for Captain Robert Neville, played by the late-great Charlton Heston.
All is not lost for Neville, though. As the only human not infected by the virus that overtook the planet, he knows that within his blood lies the cure for those infected. Can he survive long enough to save humanity?
