Review of The Omega Man (1971) by Philip D — 22 Nov 2008
I loved this film when I saw it in the 70s, I probably quite liked it when I saw it in the 80s and 90s when it was repeated on tv.
Watching it as a dvd right now and the magic has diminished a little.
There are moments when chuck as a hero is a little camp.
The early empty city shots are very effective, in a way that "i am legend" wasn't.
Now that I am older I can see the cheese factor is in the organic extra mature variety but I still love it.
Rent it.
