This was a pleasant distraction, but one doesn't walk away with much insight or any emotion. I won't say that everyone mailed it in, it's just that the material wasn't challenging for any of the actors.
I found the original New Yorker story probably more compelling. This would have been a TV movie-of-the-week, when that was still a thing.
