'The Odd Life of Timothy Green' is not a very good movie. It's actually pretty lame all around. It seems like it was literally written by a child. There's no danger in the movie. There's no real conflict.

Nobody is offensive at all really. It's very simple, very straight forward, and very juvenile. The characters all live in an imaginary world where a plant kid coming out of the ground is normal. Nobody thinks it's alarming in the least.

Now, this isn't something that's kept a secret. By the end of the movie, everybody in the town knows about the little plant boy and nobody seems to care. They just kind of shrug it off like it's normal.

There are no calls to the government or mob of angry villagers wanting to burn this unholy mutant. He just gets to pal around town, dancing to the tune of a piece of paper in which he performs all the tasks that the parents wrote about the perfect kid they'd want.

You see, the parents can't have kids. They want kids. So, like any normal person wanting children, they write down all the traits and accomplishments their imaginary perfect child would have, then they burry that list in a box in the garden.

It rains and then appears the soulless golem who can only do the things written on that list. It's kinda sad in that the creature has no say in what it gets to do with its short life. As once it's completed all the tasks, it's time to go back into the ground from whence it came.

You think maybe if the parents wrote a more detailed or longer list the beast could've possibly had a longer, more enjoyable life. Everything is very predictable, especially when they try to pull on your heart strings with the soaring music and the tears on the screen but my wife and I just sat there, still wondering about the scenes earlier where everybody is cool with the magical robot among them.

There were many times we looked at each other and said 'Huh??' This is an easily avoidable film. I don't even think people with kids should see this as it paints such an unrealistic picture of life and how to handle your problems.
