The decent acting and production values almost disguise the fact that this movie is sopping with kitsch. It's a montage of so many sentimental movie cliches, none having a firm footing in story. The serious tone of this movie combined with the nonsensical sappiness made it uncomfortable for me to watch.
While it did elicit some emotion, those moments were fleeting.
