A well-acted film with a fine cast. Yes, it is a bit syrupy, but it is a family film. It is also a fable. It may breeze along, and lack great depth and nuances in the characters and story, but there is plenty here to enjoy.
Perhaps jaded critics paid little attention, but the film is well-acted, different from the pack, and well-shot. My whole family enjoyed this, and not just because family friend William Harrison was in the film (good job William!).
Our audience also was very positive about the film.
