Review of The Odd Couple (1968) by Teresa S — 01 Aug 2009
(1968 Director: Gene Saks) Sadly we lost two great comedians, Jack Lemmon (Some Like it Hot, 12 Angry Men) and Walter Mattheau (Hello Dolly, Dennis the Menace, Hollywood Suite, IQ). these 2 had managed to keep the "balance of nature" they are at such polarities! Was the writing trying to portray Taurus with Libra? or was it Sagitarius with Cancer? Perhaps even Scorpio combined with Gemini? At any rate, hold onto your popcorn!! The mix of these 2 is funnier and more opposite than even Bob Hope and Bing Crosby? Peter Lorrie and Mary Poppins! Steve Martin & John Candy? The Whiz and Dune?! Oprah and Conan! Klingons and Fehringe! Director Gene Saks.
..round of applause please!!!
