Review of The Nutty Professor (1996) by Billy A — 01 May 2012
Eddie Murphy stars as Sherman Klump, an overweight scientist who develops a serum that can make him athletic and fit. However, this version of himself is also an out-of-control id. The Jekyll and Hyde-like transformations lead to the expected amounts of comedic misunderstandings, romantic conflicts, and eventual lessons learned.
The Nutty Professor is a weak movie when compared to Murphy's hilarious 1980's movies, but it's way better than the Jerry Lewis original and most of the crud Murphy would film later on.
