I can't say it's a pointless remake, because they were going somewhere with the premise. But there were hardly any laughs. Do not watch this movie expecting a throughout laugh-fest. It actually bored me a bit throughout the middle forty minutes.
Eddie Murphy did a 9/10 job at acting, but it's not a great movie.
