Review of The Nut Job (2014) by Devin T — 28 Mar 2016
While it was definetly more than a little late on the Gangnam Style craze I found the whole story to be a bit of a refresher from the same old same old easily likeable main character and incredibly predictable plot.
The characters are a bit lamely developed, aside from the main character and none of the names (ranging from plain old Raccoon to Buddy to Jamie) seem to have really any thought to them. While they didn't do anything too overtly drastic in the plot they don't spell it out for you like every other movie of it's kind which is quite refreshing.
I take it for what it is, a kids movie that doesn't bore older audiences to tears, and you should too.
