The Nut Job is brought down because it contains very few interesting characters and a razor thin plot that can't handle a full feature length run time. It might keep a 5 year old entertained for 90 minutes.
But for anyone else, there will be plenty of eyerolls and groans of exasperation. Don't waste your time on something so trivial and flimsy.
