Review of The Nut Job (2014) by Brittany M — 05 Feb 2014
The Nut Job is a lovely and adorable cartoon with the perfect fitting voice talents. The characters were charming and fun, especially Precious the Pug who is my favourite animated dog since Bolt. The script writing was done well, even though it could have been better.
As for the plot line I found it rather interesting and even though not at par with most big shot Disney films and such it was still great for an independent movie. The movie itself is both unique and quirky, featuring squirrels, which almost no movie has ever done. They promised to bring something new to the table and I was pleasantly surprised.
There are a few things subpar about this movie like the background animation lacking, however it is easy to ignore. If you really want to see a cartoon this year and aren't interested in floaty singing princesses this is definitely the movie to see!
