The set designs, costuming, makeup and special effects are pretty awesome but the film falls short due to having no build up of tension and just bludgeoning you with horror set pieces straight away. It's so far fetched and theatrical that it doesn't offer any sense of plausibility and you can't relate to any of the characters.

You can literally guess when the next jump moment is going to occur too, which is a shame. It's gorgeous to look at but ultimately quite dull.
