Review of The Nun (2013) by Annie G — 10 Sep 2010

I really wasn't expecting much from this movie. The title alone was enough to make me groan at the more than likely B-Movie nature of the movie. The cover of the DVD case didn't help... at all.

For a low budget movie, it wasn't that bad. It's still a B-Movie in my opinion, but it's not a bad one. The premise, though not very original, was strong enough to build some decent scenes onto. Most of the cast members weren't all that experienced at acting, and it shows at times.

These are minor things, though compared to the special effects. The "nun" effects were a little hard to believe. To give them credit though, the effects leading up to the appearances of the "nun" were pretty good. It was just the "nun" herself that needed some polishing.

Despite these flaws, I was still able to enjoy this movie... though I'd probably enjoy it more with friends, popcorn, beer and some wise cracks.
