Review of The Number 23 (2007) by Shane H — 08 Apr 2012
Jim Carrey plays a dog catcher who is living an ordinary life with a wife (Virgina Madsen) and son (Logan Lerman). When he is called to a Chinese restaurant to remove a dog it turns out this call will change his life forever.
He is bitten by the dog and the bite triggers a series of events. His wife while waiting for him to pick her up goes into a book store and picks up a book about the number 23. She buys him the book and as he reads it he finds that the book is much like his life as far as his childhood was concerned.
He become obsessed with the random events that all revolve around the number 23. Carrey trying to play serious rolls is always a chore for him because he still manages to be funny even when he tries not to be.
The movie has enough to keep you interested but not alot to wow you.
