Review of The November Man (2014) by Greg B — 31 Aug 2014
Pierce Brosnan is the A list actor that just cannot seem to carry a film to the next level. Even when he was 007 there was always something missing and unfulfilling. There is no question his biggest attribute is that he's handsome and elegant but that is certainly not enough.
November man is a relatively weak political thriller and light action picture. The main plot is just not strong enough to make it exciting and the action is also a bit subpar.
However, the movie works and it's entertaining and definitely not boring. While it won't be memorable and certainly won't be nominated for any awards it's better than I anticipated and I had a decent time.
If the story was a little stronger you could overcome some of the theatrics and silliness but overall it just doesn't completely get there.
