Review of The November Man (2014) by Ernest H — 13 Sep 2014
A retired spy is re-activated by an old friend in order to extract an ex-flame. Things go wrong and he ends up going up against different parties and his old protege when something dirty comes up about the new Russian president elect.
With a distinct lack of CGI to provide old school gun action and explosions, it recalls the Bourne Trilogy in terms of grittiness and thrills. The first half is more entertaining than the second half, but it still provides lots of surprises and a great performance from Pierce Brosnan.
