Review of The November Man (2014) by Orlando O — 23 Dec 2014
It has been a long time since we last seen Pierce Brosnan back in a spy thriller film after his era of James Bond movies. He is tackling on a novel series like The November Man. Sadly enough, The November Man fails to even get an exciting thrill to this spy series. Director Roger Donaldson film seemed so dull with decent action that makes paying attention to a conspiracy thriller story difficult.
The story follows as ex CIA agent Peter Devereaux (Pierce Brosnan) is recruited and comes across Alice (Olga Kurylenko) who has information that can put her in danger. Peters ex partner that he trained, David Mason (Luke Bracey) is assigned to bring her in and to eliminate Peter. The story tries to play as a cat and mouse with the two opposing agents. The action and shootouts in the movie lacked any thrills or excitement. The characters are poorly written in the script that makes it hard to even care for the main protagonists. It has some typical clichà (C) with Peter going after the bad guys after it gets personal when his estranged daughter is involved.
The November Man is a typical cliched spy thriller that is rather boring with action scenes that looked like it lacked potential with any creativity.
