Review of The Notorious Bettie Page (2006) by Anthony A — 16 Jul 2007
I liked: Gretchen Mol, she looked so much like Page, facially and physically; The gorgeous cinematography, making the movie appear to be from the age it was portraying...especially the transitions into over saturated colours exactly like the pin up magazines of the day.
Not so great was the story which while showing the interesting and difficult aspects of Page's life it didn't really give any more than the broad strokes. And yes could she really have been that trusting, that naive...it was a different time...but...wow.
Worth watching if you have any interest in Bettie Page, but I'm not sure if there's anything here if you're not a fan.
