Review of The Notorious Bettie Page (2006) by Ollie W — 21 Jul 2011
It shirks the constraints of standard cliched biopics and instead opts for a constantly wrong-footing exploration of Bettie Page as a young women who was exploited and celebrated in equal measure. Superbly acted and sumptuously shot in glorious monochrome, this might be Harron's most frivolous effort yet, but it remains as stylish and satisfying as ever.
