Most certainly overrated by the swooning, teary-eyed (mostly) female masses everywhere. Predictable and by the numbers, The Notebook has a manipulative formula down pat to push the right tear-duct buttons.
Ryan Gosling's pretty face helped too. Sweet, if nothing new.
