Review of The Notebook (2004) by Steve T — 12 Feb 2014
So I finally watched this movie . . . The Garner-Rowlands half of the film was very well done. As a period piece, it is totally ruined by Ryan Gossling. Watching him juxtaposed into decades past reminded me of the juxtaposition of Suzie Quattro appearing on Happy Days doing her disco-pop thing looking painfully out of place in the supposed 1950's.
Gossling should pair up with the Walton girls and their feathered 70's hair - very much ahead of its time during the Great Depression.
