Review of The Normal Heart (2014) by Ryan R — 24 May 2014
Interesting historical artifact, detailing the beginnings of the AIDS epidemic, and the first victims. There's a ton of great acting and great monologues, but as a story it's fairly inert without much of an arc.
I like that it wasn't afraid to not only go after the apathetic, homophobic establishment, but also gay men who looked at reckless promiscuity as a form of political activism.
