It was essential that Larry Kramer be the screenwriter for this very powerful story. Ruffalo plays the role firmly while letting the rest of the excellent cast play their essential roles with equal commitment and talent.
Still, my attention wasn't riveted: This masterpiece still hold more tension and greater personal impact as a stage play, despite the remarkable cinematic translation.
