Review of The Normal Heart (2014) by Jim S — 24 May 2014
Very intense and extremely well acted story of the early days of AIDS in the USA, it should be required viewing by all sexually mature adults regardless of sexual orientation. Adapted from the award winning play by Larry Kramer, I imagine that it will be nominated for a whole truck load of Emmy awards.
It's a powerful statement about the human condition and should not be ignored. I've worked and volunteered for the gay men's health industry for many years now, and even though I've not encountered that many men who have developed AIDS, I do know people with HIV and this film is a very important document.
