The Normal Heart isn't a perfect film, but is definitely worth a shot. The main issues with The Normal Heart is the lack of subtlety and the unevenness throughout the whole film. The performances are what standout in the film.
There is not one bad performance throughout the film. I couldn't see anyone else taking the Emmy besides Matt Bomer this year. Overall, The Normal Heart is one of the best films I have seen so far this year.
