Review of The Ninth Gate (1999) by Tania M — 07 Sep 2011
It's not supposed to shock or scare, it simply wants you to puzzle over it until your head spins.
I adored the scenery and the dark feel of the characters.
There is a disturbing element here that is so thin and intangeble that you can't put our finger on why you get a chill down your spine.
Most people would get bored by the end, but that is the nature of people nowadays, because it wants a intellectual audience.
Jhonny Depp never fails to be completely convincing. He is such a joy to watch.
I just loved it.
