Review of The Ninth Gate (1999) by Fraser B — 11 Mar 2009
Okay, it's nothing special, but I enjoy this one. It's got some enjoyably murky performances (ranging from spooky to irreverent to quite silly), a tense, cool atmosphere (complimented immesurably by a wonderful score), and an intriguing (if under explored) plot which all make for one decent, if patchy, supernatural thriller that I have found enjoyable enough genre fodder to warrant numerous revisits.
