Not seen this for a few years and it was definitely looking back through rose tinted glasses. Still a very enjoyable film and standout individuality as a movie in the horror genre for it's time period.
Beautiful scenes, a story that luxuriates in the time it takes to unravel and Johnnny Depp smoking and drinking like a trooper. The scares are subtle and effective and well, the ending.....
