The Ninth Gate deals with 3 extremely rare books, that if perhaps sequenced and understood properly can summon the devil. The movie is suspenseful and to me was intriguing even though at times it was a bit slow.
The music of Kilar really fit the movie perfectly, and overall the movie is just really well fit together thematically. Most will be disappointing by this movie, wanting more action or more supernatural elements, but I loved how the movie was restrained and enshrouded in mystery as to whether or not the right keys were held.
