Review of The Ninth Gate (1999) by Charlie G — 06 Sep 2013
A classic thriller that has gone almost unnoticed, due to Polanski being black-listed by the US government/hollywood. Johnny Depp's character stumbles down a demonic labyrinth filled with deception, greed and dark travel sequences that really make the movie a pleasure to become lost within.
The ending is the only weakness, but even that cannot taint this exceptional modern noir gem.
