Review of The Ninth Configuration (1980) by David S — 05 Feb 2009
Cool DVD cover. Intriguing premise. What the hell? The first half of the film tries to be a One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest crazy people comedy. Hardly watchable. Stacy Keech has a lot going on under the surface, but you feel sorry for him that he's acting this well in a movie this lame. The second half of the movie is more watchable from a campy level. There's an entertaining biker gang scene that belongs in a good B-movie more than in this faux-serious faux-comedic psychological drama.
Skip it.
