Review of The Nines (2007) by Nick B — 15 Oct 2009
Ryan Reynolds does good work but that doesn't keep the story from losing itself in a wave of absurdity. It had a promising start, but the ending ruins it all by rushing to explain the entire situation and making any sense you made of the plot before that point irrelevant.
Honestly, the "twist" could have been rewritten numerous ways so that an audience could actually relate to Reynolds' character instead of wondering "why in Hell is THIS the end?".
