Review of The Nine Lives of Fritz the Cat (1974) by Stephen L — 05 Feb 2010
A half-baked sequel. And I'm not just making a pot smoking reference. The animation quality is still as good but the story is meandering and aimless and other such words. In the first movie, sex and drugs were just one part of the story, message and theme but here they seem to pretty much be the only part.
I attribute the lack of quality to the absence of Ralph Bakshi as director and writer. The first one had something important to say. This one does not.
