Review of The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) by Jacob S — 30 Oct 2012
We've come to the end of my month of Halloween reviews, and I've saved one of my favorites for the end. I think I love this movie just as much as I did when I was a kid. The songs are wonderful and stick with you (thank you, Danny!).
The atmosphere is creepy, funny and beautiful at different points. It's cautionary tale about the trouble of forcing yourself into being something you're not and learning to be happy with being true to yourself but also that it's never wrong to take a moment to enjoy the finer things in life and to look at things from different perspectives.
I'm so happy I got to see this in theaters when it came out, and since the film will be 20 years old next year, I'll definitely be seeing it if they rerelease it...even if it will most likely be in 3-D.
And on that note, Happy Halloween!
