Review of The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) by Tom G — 03 Jan 2014
The Nightmare Before Christmas is a visually stunning and original movie that works as a creepy and charming Halloween film as well as a magical and off kilter Christmas movie. While its story is inventive, it doesn't really ever flesh out or give us interesting characters to engage with, and yet we're expected to enjoy it on mere spectacle; but what a spectacle.
Its stop motion animation still holds up nearly two decades after its initial release. Overall, it's a hate it or love it movie that is admittedly an enjoyable classic.
