Review of The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) by Stefan L — 01 Jan 2016
No real reason not to like this fun and unique horrific/joyous stop motion musical. Jack Skellington is certainly a fun and amusing lead role for this musical treat. The songs had some good and catching lyrics while putting the bounce and tragic moments cleanly.
I do kind of wish I did watch this when I was younger, but growing up with the Grinch does make me say that this is another fine animated Christmas classic with a big Halloween emphasis to it. The hard and "gruesome" work with the stop motion itself definitely deserves a lot of credit.
Simple plot, but creative ideas especially for it's time period.
