Review of The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) by Jake M — 13 Nov 2016
The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) - Geniusly combines the themes of two popular holidays Halloween and Christmas. Out of all the things that have come from Tim Burton's head this has got to be the most imaginative idea that he's ever come up with.
I should also give Henry Selick some credit because he had to do a lot of the work for being the director. The Story is very simple but thanks to its creative ideas, memorable characters and very iconic musical numbers it exceeds expectations and makes the world the our characters live in more interesting than it appears.
Danny Elfman should be proud of himself because the songs that were written for this movie have got to be some of the best i've ever heard from him and with all the movies he's scored in his career that is saying a lot.
The Animation has got to be the most impressive out of everything. It perfectly captures the Tim Burton spirit to a tee and it also stands the test of time as it's still as impressive now as it was back in 1993.
It's very crazy to see how two things can combine together in such an odd but impressive way. It meshes so well that I keep puzzling on if this movie is more Halloween or Christmas. This movie has set the bar high for future stop motion films and it has left an impact on so many people including myself.
This movie is not only one of my favorite movies from Tim Burton but also one of my favorite Movies from Disney. (A+).
